Las Ramblas Golf Course
Las Ramblas Golf Course was established in 1991 and has been a very popular choice of course for many golfers on the Costa Blanca.
It is a Par 72 and is situated in a scenic hilly setting of ravines and pine forest. I believe the Las ramblas golf course has a fantastic feel about it with some special holes you will definitely not forget.
One of these being the fourth hole which is a tricky yet enjoyable Par 5 that will have you in a quandary as in how to approach it. This hole starts with a fairway leading up a slight hill to a 150 foot drop. If you get enough power from the tee to reach the edge but not too much your ball rolls over, you will have a choice of laying up on the center island fairway or taking a long iron at the third island which is the green.
The fairways are narrow and on many holes it is necessary to play position over length. I would not recommend this course for beginners and first time it is best played with someone who has knowledge of the course and where to position your ball.
When I first played Las Ramblas Golf back in the late 90s, there was a temporary club house. I´m pleased to say things have moved forward since then. Now the clubhouse overlooks the practise facilities. It is a real joy to visit for a drink after a hot round in the Spanish sun. You can find variety of food and drink, which is all at a reasonable price.
The surrounding area has much to offer and amenities have improved greatly over the past decade. Along with Campoamor and Villamartin golf courses, also in close proximity is the largest shopping center in the Valencian region. La Zenia boulevard provides a vast number of shops and restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets. The area also has some fantastic sandy beaches all within a short drive of Las Ramblas Golf.
Currently the area of Orihuela Costa has been getting busier every year and is more than just a holiday destination with many people choosing to stay longer term or even full time living.
